2.6.1.32
Description Valine--3-methyl-2-oxovalerate transaminase
Alternative names Valine-isoleucine aminotransferase
Catalyzed reaction L-valine + (S)-3-methyl-2-oxopentanoate = 3-methyl-2-oxobutanoate + L-isoleucine.
Cofactor Pyridoxal-phosphate (?)
Comments Presumably a PLP-dependent enzyme, given the type of catalyzed reaction. However, no cofactor requirement was found in the literature (just one paper, in russian).
Maybe identical to Branched-chain amino acid aminotransferase EC 2.6.1.42 .
