Description Histidine aminotransferase
Alternative names L-histidine-2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase.
Catalyzed reaction L-histidine + 2-oxoglutarate = imidazol-5-yl-pyruvate + L-glutamate.
Cofactor Pyridoxal-phosphate.
In C. glabrata, histidine is transaminated via the aromatic amino acid aminotransferase Aro8.
