2.6.1.48
Description 5-aminovalerate aminotransferase
Alternative names Delta-aminovalerate aminotransferase;
Delta-aminovalerate transaminase;
5-aminopentanoate:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase.
Catalyzed reaction 5-aminopentanoate + 2-oxoglutarate = 5-oxopentanoate + L-glutamate.
Cofactor Pyridoxal-phosphate.
The only tentatively identified genes (from Pseudomonas putida) are strictly related to bacterial GABA transaminases (EC 2.6.1.19) and have been included in family 2.6.1.19b.
Organisms -Eubacteria -Fungi
