2.6.1.8 |
Description |
2,5-diaminovalerate aminotransferase |
Alternative names |
Diamino-acid aminotransferase. |
Catalyzed reaction |
2,5-diaminopentanoate + 2-oxoglutarate = 5-amino-2-oxopentanoate + L-glutamate. |
Cofactor |
Pyridoxal-phosphate. |
Comments |
-!- 2,5-diaminoglutarate (???) can act instead of diaminopentanoate. |
|
There may be an error in the EC classification. 2,5-diaminopentanoate is in fact ornithine, so this enzyme should coincide with EC 2.6.1.13. In the original reference, though, the substrates of this activity are 5-aminovalerate and 2,4-diaminoglutarate. |
