Comments The enzyme from Ruminiclostridium cellulolyticum is involved in the biosynthesis of closthioamide (CTA), a rare example of a thioamide-containing nonribosomal peptide.
In combination with the ligase CtaD, it can add up to three beta-alanyl moyeties to the CtaE carrier protein, generating the amide backbone of CTA.
