cobc |
Description |
cobC-like proteins |
Catalyzed reaction |
CobC from Pseudomonas is required for formation of the nucleotide loop of cobalamin.
The gene product appears to be involved in the synthesis and addition of aminopropanol, required for the conversion
of cobyric acid to cobinamide.
CobC from Pseudomonas is NOT related to CobC from Salmonella (which encodes a phosphatase, not PLP-dependent) but rather to CobD, which encodes a threonine-phosphate decarboxylase (4.1.1.81). |
Cofactor |
Pyridoxal-phosphate (POTENTIAL). |
