orf30
Description Norcoronamic acid synthase (4.4.1.-)
Alternative names 2-methyl-1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid synthase;
1- amino-2-methylcyclopropanecarboxylate synthase;
MeACC synthase.
Catalyzed reaction S-adenosyl-3-methyl-L-methionine = 2-methyl-1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate + methylthioadenosine.
Cofactor Pyridoxal-phosphate.
Found in bacteria. The methylated AdoMet derivative that serves as a substrate is produced by a Vitamin B12-dependent enzyme.
Organisms -Eubacteria
