B6db activities: oxyq

oxyq
Description (S)-4-amino-anhydrotetracycline transaminase ( 2.6.1.-)
Alternative names 4-oxo-anhydrotetracycline transaminase;
OxyQ (gene name)
Catalyzed reaction 4-oxo-anhydrotetracycline + an L-amino acid = (S)-4-amino-anhydrotetracycline + a 2-oxo acid
Cofactor Pyridoxal-phosphate.
The aminotransferase OxyQ catalyzes the amination of C4-keto of 4-oxo-anhydrotetracycline, yielding 4-amino-anhydrotetracycline. This is in the S-isomer, at variance with the enzymes in the ChdN family, that appear to have the opposite stereochemistry.

The amino group donor is not specified, because a soluble version of recombinant OxyQ has not yet been obtained.
