1.17.1.1
Activity 1.17.1.1
Description CDP-4-dehydro-6-deoxyglucose reductase
Notes A small family of bacterial sequences, assembled based on the only validated enzyme (from Yersinia).

The sequences are related to those of other enzymes (such as 2.6.1.87, 4.2.1.168, psec) involved in the metabolism of NTP-linked amino sugars.

This enzyme is related to GDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-mannose-3-dehydratase (4.2.1.168 family) and shares with this the absence of an active site lysine - meaning that PLP is not covalently bound to the enzyme through an internal aldimine linkage.
