2.6.1.1 f |
Activity |
2.6.1.1 |
Description |
Aspartate aminotransferase (family f) |
Notes |
This family is based on a single validated sequence and includes enzymes from Gram+ bacteria (mostly Bacillaceae). Sequences here are most strictly related to those in family 2.6.1.1b, yet they are so divergent (and presumably distinct in biological role) that they deserve to be included in a separate family.
The structure of the enzyme from S. aureus has been solved, but apparently its activity has not been testes experimentally. |
