2.6.1.7
Activity 2.6.1.7
Description Kynurenine--oxoglutarate aminotransferase.
Notes The family is composed by enzymes similar to the prototypical rat kynurenine aminotransferase, but endowed with a broad substrate specificity. For example, the rat kynurenine aminotransferase I also shows alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase activity (2.6.1.39) while the T. thermophilus enzyme has been found responsible for the kynurenine-oxoglutarate aminotransferase reaction and for the glutamine-phenylpyruvate reaction (2.6.1.64).
