Description |
Arginine--pyruvate transaminase |
Notes |
The only functionally validated enzyme is from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, where it is used for L-arginine utilization when the major degradative route, i.e. the arginine succinyltransferase pathway, is blocked. Sequences in this family are strictly related to those of thermophilic aspartate aminotransferases (family 2.6.1.1 b) and aromatic aa transaminases (2.6.1.57 b). |
