2.8.1.7 c
Activity 2.8.1.7
Description Cysteine desulfurase (family c)
Notes Very divergent family of enzymes, apparently occurring only in a few bacteria. The sequences are very distantly relted to (but shorter than) those in family 4.3.1.36.
The prototype, YcfC from Erwinia amylovora, has been implicated in the synthesis of 6-thioguanine.
