5.1.1.13 |
Description |
Aspartate racemase (family a) |
Notes |
Sequences very similar to those of mammalian serine racemases. Also related, but phylogenetically distinct, from those in family 5.1.1.13b.
Distinctive residues of this family are three consecutive serines (in the Saccoglossus kowalevskii reference sequence, XP_002735975, residues 193-195). The enzyme with accession number XP_002736011 contains an SAS (rather than SSS) sequence and show similar racemase activities with aspartate and glutamate. |
