Notes This family has been constructed around three validated bacterial sequences, but it also includes a closely homologous archaeal sequence.
Fungal Phe decarboxylases (Family are very similar in sequence (apart from an additional C-terminus domain) and retain a substantial activity towards tyrosine.
Plant enzymes with tyrosine decarboxylase activity have been included into EC (Aromatic amino acid decarboxylase).
