Description |
Tyrosine decarboxylase (family a) |
Notes |
This family has been constructed around three validated bacterial sequences, but it also includes a closely homologous archaeal sequence.
Fungal Phe decarboxylases (Family 4.1.1.53) are very similar in sequence (apart from an additional C-terminus domain) and retain a substantial activity towards tyrosine.
Plant enzymes with tyrosine decarboxylase activity have been included into EC 4.1.1.28 (Aromatic amino acid decarboxylase). |
