l-lysine 2-aminotransferase
Activity l-lysine_2-aminotransferase
Description L-lysine 2-aminotransferase (2.6.1.-)
Notes Very small and homogeneous family, composed solely of sequences from Streptomycetes. The validated enzymes are involved in the biosynthesis of antibiotics such as virginiamycin S.

The family is phylogenetically related to a number of NDP-hexose aminotransferases, such as ArnB, TylB, 2.6.1.33 and perosamine aminotransferase.
