Description |
Ornithine decarboxylase paralogue |
Notes |
These metazoan proteins are fold-type III, similar to lysine and ornithine decarboxylases (families 4.1.1.18 and 4.1.17_1).
However, experimental data show that THESE PROTEINS ARE NOT ENZYMES. Rather, they act as ANTIZYME INHIBITORS, and are apparently involved in the regulation of polyamine biosynthesis |
