Description Branched chain/aromatic amino acid transaminase (2.6.1.-)
Notes Small family of bacterial proteins, based on the validated enzyme from Thermobaculum terrenum.
Sequences are quite distinct from those of classic BCATs (family 2.6.1.42_a) and resemble instead those grouped in family tuzn1299 (archaeal, low-specificity branched-chain amino acid transaminases).
