abstract	1. Homocysteine is metabolized by cell-free enzymatic preparations from Proteus morganii to cr-ketobutyrate, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide. 2. The desulfhydrase system can be inactivated by aging and dialysis, but its activity is restored upon the addition of pyridoxal phosphate.
