Lysine racemase (family c)

Notes

Very small family, based on the functionally validated enzyme from Thermotoga maritima. Sequences are quite dissimilar from those in familes 5.1.1.5_a and 5.1.1.5_b, but very similar to ornithine racemases (family 5.1.1.12). Indeed, the enzyme from Thermotoga also shows a very high activity towards L- and D-ornithine.
